Jewish Prague: Kosher Restaurants, Famous Jews, Religious Services, Museums and More by Brenda Zejdl Love

This book is primarily a resource for visiting Jews to find information on kosher markets, restaurants, and places of worship. In addition, a history of Czech Jews is also included.

At one time, Jews in Prague comprised up to 25% of the population. It took a miracle for a Jew with a long Czech lineage to survive until the 21st century. They had to survive plagues, pogroms, fires that destroyed most of the Jewish Quarter, being expelled twice, over 100 years of the Familiants laws, which restricted marriages to one male per family between 1727 and 1848, and finally, the WWII holocaust and the Communist regime.
