Adventure Girl: Dabi Digs in Israel by Janice Hechter

Whether digging in the dirt, crafting mud figures, or playing with worms, Dabi’s favorite thing is exploring nature and using it to create her sculptures. On a special family visit to her grandparents in Israel, Dabi’s parents insist that she dress and act like a “little lady”. But when she finds a kindred curious spirit in her aunt, who takes her on a new adventure, Dabi makes more than one important discovery, including that it’s great to be true to herself. Dabi’s surprise discovery occurs at the Beit Guvrin National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where children can join an archaeological dig, crawl through caves and explore ancient places.
